Pretty uneventful day. After breakfast, a quick check of the bikes showed my tires to be a little low. We both carry air pumps, and were excited to try them out. A coin toss decided that we would use Todt's. It worked brilliantly.
Like I said, nothing really to report, the weather was beautiful, the miles just flew by, and people on I-5 still insist on driving in the left lane, not moving to the right to allow passing.
We stopped for lunch at Andersen's Pea Soup. I sent Julie a text, letting her know this was our last stop before we parted ways. Ever compassionate, she sent this reply, "Awwwe..... Suck that tear back into your eyehole little fella!"
At the I-5 I-580 split we waved goodbye, and our trip together was over. I rode the rest of the way home thinking about what an awesome adventure it had been. I wondered how I would remember everything that had happened along the way, and decided to write this blog. I know it has been a bit wordy, and I thank you for bearing with me. I also know my photography was painfully bad, I promise to do better next time.
Arriving home, I got the hero's welcome from my bride, and my dog. Todt and I exchanged texts to confirm our safe arrivals, and he let me know Sunny and Bill made it too.
The next day Todt sent out this email:
Here are the GPS stats for Scotty and me.
Max speed 105 MPH
Moving average 67 MPH
Overall average 62 MPH
Total time on bikes 26 hours 25 minutes
Total time moving on bikes 24 hours 33 minutes
Total time stopped on bikes 1 hour 52 minutes
Total Miles 1645.9
I set to work on this blog, and a little trophy for four of us. Just wanted a little remembrance for us. So I designed this sticker.
Thanks again for reading my blog. There are more adventures coming. Look for our Arctic Expedition this December. We will explore Iceland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.
